The Forum Hertfordshire operated by The University of Hertfordshire Students’ Union (Here on in abbreviated to UHSU) are dedicated to safeguarding and preserving your privacy when visiting the Forum website or communicating electronically with UHSU.

This Privacy Policy, explains what happens to any personal data that you provide to UHSU, or that we collect from you when you are on this site.

UHSU do update this Policy from time to time so please do return and review this Policy regularly. This will be your responsibility to do so.

Information UHSU Collect
In operating our website UHSU may collect and process the following data about you:

UHSU may on occasion gather information regarding your computer whilst you are on the UHSU website. This includes browser information and your IP address. If you do not want UHSU to use your data for our or third parties purposes you will have the opportunity to withhold your consent to this when you provide your details to UHSU on the form on which we collect your data.

Please be advised that UHSU do not reveal information about identifiable individuals to our advertisers but UHSU may, on occasion, provide them with aggregate statistical information about UHSU website visitors.

UHSU will not disclose your information to third parties.  However, we may pass on information from third parties.  If you wish to opt out of this, please contact us in writing at marketing@uhsu.co.uk.

You mind find links to third party websites on our website. These websites should have their own privacy policies which you should check. We do not accept any responsibility or liability for their policies whatsoever as we have no control over them. 

Storing Your Personal Data
Data that is provided to UHSU is stored on our secure servers. Details relating to any transactions entered into/on our website will be encrypted to ensure its safety.

The transmission of information via the Internet is not completely secure and therefore UHSU cannot guarantee the security of data sent to us electronically and transmission of such data is therefore entirely at your own risk. Where UHSU have given you (or where you have chosen) a password so that you can access certain parts of our site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. UHSU accepts no responsibility for the safeguarding of this password or liability should a loss of the password occur.

Access to Information
The Data Protection Act 1998 gives you the right to access the information that UHSU hold about you. Please note that any demand for access may be subject to payment of a fee of £10.
