Hertfordshire's Got Talent 2012 Winners:

Little girl with a big voice beats strong competition to win Hertfordshire’s Got Talent

On the 15 September the Forum Hertfordshire hosted Hertfordshire’s Got Talent. The event attracted talent from across the County including magicians, dancers, singers and bands who battled it out to win some amazing prizes.

The event audience were entertained by a performance from the cheeky trio and finalists from Britain’s Got Talent, the Loveable Rogues as well as the Karizma Crew from Heart radio. Ex-Blue Peter presenter and Heart radio DJ Stuart Miles compared the event.

Winners this year were Shaniah Williams, Jay Borthwick and girl band All Sorts, who won first, second and third place respectively. Special prizes went to Connor McSweeney and April Blue.

Twelve year old Shaniah Williams astounded the crowd with her mature singing voice belting out a rendition of ‘I am changing’ from Dream Girls. For coming first Shaniah received, £1000 Cash Prize and a £500 Photography Shoot courtesy of Ray Lowe Studios.

Second prize went to thirteen year old magician Jay Borthwick, who amazed the crowd with a spectacular musical show featuring confetti, quick clothes changes, and multiplying umbrellas. For coming second Jay received £250 Cash Prize, and a £250 Photography Shoot courtesy of Ray Lowe Studios.

Four person girl band, All Sorts received third prize for their harmonious a cappella performance of ‘We found love’ by Rihanna. The girls received a £100 Cash Prize and a £100 Photography Shoot courtesy of Ray Lowe Studios.

The special recording prize, a one year Recording Contract sponsored by Graphic Nature Studios was awarded to a well deserving male duo called April Blue. The two 23 year old guitarists performed an acoustic version of their own song.

The special performance prize, a one year performance scholarship sponsored by Top Hat Stage School went to 16 year old Connor McSweeney. He overwhelmed the audience with his performance of ‘You never will be mine’ by Robyn.

Judges for the event were; Max Ross - The Forum Hertfordshire, Guy Robinson – Hyper Agency, Mark Sadler – Heart 97.6 and Warren Bacci - Top Hat Stage & Screen School.

Max Ross, Director of Commercial Services said: ‘It was incredibly tough to judge this year as the talent reached professional heights. We are also grateful for the quality of the volunteers and people organising the event, who worked tirelessly and did an immensely successful job.’
